A few guiding principles

"Make best use what you have and you shall not want for more..."
Not always true, but in many cases, looking at things differently can
help us see how to use what we already have in order to meet our needs and wants, be it in our homes, gardens or lives in general.
Not to be confused with William Morris's assertion that:
"you should have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful".
The ideal is possibly to think twice before adding to the pile, consider whether something can be repurposed to suit your need, and do pass on whatever is superfluous on the basis it may well be just what someone else is looking for!
With thanks to Lorne Bradley for her infinite words of wisdom!
